Maple Grove Softball Downs Osseo in Playoff Opener
The Maple Grove softball team has hopes of returning to the state tournament this season.
The Crimson beat rival Osseo 5-0 in the first round of the Section 5AAAA tournament Monday.
The win avenged a regular season loss to the Orioles.
Crimson pitcher Ava Dueck struck out 14 in the win.
Second seed Maple Grove is hosting third seed Rogers in the second round Tuesday.
Osseo plays at Irondale in an elimination game.
