Maple Grove Routs White Bear Lake in State Girls Basketball Opener
The top-ranked Maple Grove girls basketball team jumped out to an 18-2 first half lead on the way to a 71-36 win over White Bear Lake in the quarterfinals of the state Class AAAA tournament.
The Bears pulled within 12 points at halftime, 34-22, but the Crimson scored the first ten points of the second half to put the game away.
Jordan Ode led Maple Grove in scoring with 27 points. Lexi Hanna added 17 and Addie Hanna 10 for the Crimson (27-2).
Maple Grove, the top seed in the tournament, faces Lakeville North (19-11) in the semifinals Thursday at 6:00 pm at Williams Arena.
The Crimson defeated the Panthers in the state quarterfinals a year ago and also beat them 72-51 in early December.
