Maple Grove Legion Baseball Powers Past Spring Lake Park
The Maple Grove American Legion baseball team beat Spring Lake Park 7-1 Tuesday night.
Maple Grove got a late start on the summer Legion schedule after qualifying for the state high school tournament.
Aiden McMahon drove in a run with a single in the third inning to give MG a 2-0 lead.
Brian O’Dwyer’s two-run triple in the fourth helped Maple Grove stretch the lead to 5-1.
Cal Fischer drove in McMahon after he’d doubled off the top of the fence in the sixth.
McMahon also pitched the last two innings for Maple Grove.
They are now 3-1 this season and get right back into action Wednesday night against Brooklyn Park.
