Maple Grove Legion Baseball Falls to Anoka
The Maple Grove Legion baseball team fell 2-1 to Anoka in winner’s bracket play at the Sub-State 11 tournament.
Offense was hard to come by in this pitcher’s duel.
Maple Grove’s Jeremy Klick and Anoka’s Nathan Culley matched zeroes through four innings.
Maple Grove’s Bennett Lewis drove in the game’s first run in the top of the fifth.
Culley batted for the designated hitter and drove in two runs in the sixth for the winning runs.
Anoka went on to win the tournament.
