Maple Grove Girls Tennis Captures Section 5AA Title with 5-2 Win over Wayzata
The Maple Grove girls tennis team won their third straight Section 5AA championship with a 5-2 win over Wayzata Tuesday at the Rogers Tennis Club.
In singles, the Crimson got wins from Maddie Larsen (6-4, 6-1) and Summer Ode (6-2, 6-0).
In doubles, Maple Grove got a sweep with wins from Char Bakke and Millie Larsen (6-4, 6-1), Livia Walseth and Lexi Helmer-Jahnke (6-4, 6-1), and Addison Doherty and Eva Langen (2-6, 6-0, 6-2).
The Crimson head into the state Class AA tournament with an 18-4 record while Wayzata ends its team season with a 14-4 record.
