Maple Grove Girls Soccer Ready for State Tournament
It hasn’t been all smooth sailing this season, but the Maple Grove girls soccer team is playing well down the stretch as they get set for the state class AAA tournament.
An inexperienced Crimson team got off to a slow start this season, but they are unbeaten in their last seven games.
That includes a 1-0 overtime win over top seed Spring Lake Park in the Section 5AAA championship game.
Maple Grove carries an 8-6-4 record into the state tournament.
They meet top seed White Bear Lake in the quarterfinals Thursday in Edina.
It’s Maple Grove’s first trip to state since their championship season in 2019.
