Maple Grove Football Rolls into State Playoffs with 10th Win
The top-ranked Maple Grove football team remained unbeaten and qualified for the state Class 6A playoffs with a 55-18 win over East Ridge.
James Engle and Kaden Harney each ran for three touchdowns and Harney threw to Engle for another score as the Crimson improved to 10-0 on the season.
The Maple Grove offense rolled up 501 yards of total offense while Beaux Thyen, Will Raymond and Ryder Skanson all recorded double digit tackle numbers.
Engle, now with 25 rushing touchdowns, broke the Maple Grove single season record held by Derrick Jameson.
The Crimson now face Lakeville South (8-2) in the state quarterfinals Friday at 6:00 pm at Eastview High School.
