Maple Grove Baseball State Semifinal Game Postponed
Maple Grove’s state tournament semifinal baseball game was suspended until Thursday after heavy rains and lightning came through St. Paul early Wednesday afternoon.
The Crimson (20-4) will finish their game with defending state champion Farmington (22-3) starting Thursday at noon at CHS Field. The game will resume in the top of the second inning with a 1-1 count on Crimson rightfielder Aiden McMahon.
Neither team had scored yet although the Crimson put two runners on base in the first with a walk and a Farmington error.
Maple Grove starting pitcher Aiden Hansen retired the Tigers in order in the first inning, striking out two.
Stillwater and Chanhassen play in the second Class AAAA semifinal Thursday at 2:30 pm.
The state championship game is scheduled for 7:00 pm Friday at Target Field.
