Maple Grove Baseball Rallies to Beat STMA
Sam Kliber’s two-run single in the top of the seventh inning lifted the Maple Grove baseball team to a 3-2 win over St. Michael-Albertville Monday.
The Crimson took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Vann Olson scored on a wild pitch.
Maple Grove held that lead until the bottom of the sixth inning when STMA scored twice, including one on an RBI double from Kurtis Lekatz.
Kliber’s single then put Maple Grove back on top.
Noah Black picked up the win in relief of starting pitcher Kliber while Hunter Gerber struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to earn the save.
A cold wet spring has forced several cancellations this month–both teams were playing just their third games of the season. The Crimson is now 1-2 while STMA drops to 0-3.
Maple Grove is scheduled to play three more games this week including hosting Centennial Tuesday afternoon.
