Local Skiers Compete in Section 5 Nordic Ski Championship
Area high school skiers from Champlin Park, Osseo, Maple Grove, and Park Center/Totino-Grace competed in the Section 5 Nordic Ski Championships at Hyland Park Reserve in Bloomington.
In the boys pursuit, Reid Binsfeld from Park Center/Totino-Grace placed first overall with a combined time of 29:11.
Quinlan Rundquist of Osseo (30:58, 6th) and Kenton Prudhomme of Maple Grove (31:04, 8th) also qualified for the state meet.
In the girls pursuit, Abby Hibbs from Champlin Park placed third overall with a time of 34:26. Selah Binsfeld from Park Center/Totino-Grace will also be a state meet participant finishing in sixth with a time of 35:14.
Blaine won the Section 5 boys team and title and Elk River/Zimmerman won the girls team title.
The state Nordic meet is scheduled for February 14-15 at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
