Local Female Athletes Honored at Athena Awards
55 high school senior female student athletes were honored in Brooklyn Center Friday at the 50th annual Athena Awards.
The awards, first presented to Minneapolis-area high school senior girls in 1973, honors one student from each participating school and recognizes athletic accomplishments, as well as academic plus other school involvement.
This is the first in-person ceremony for the Athena Awards since May 2019.
