Laubenra Ben, Park Center Track and Field Star
Park Center High School junior Laubenra Ben showed off her track and field talents last weekend, qualifying for the state meet in four events.
Ben won the 200 and 400 meters, anchored the 4 x 200 meter relay team and finished second in the triple jump.
Ben and her sister Laubental (Helen) and the Chatman sisters, Shahdaizhalynn and Shynika, will run together Saturday in the state 4 x 200 relay finals following their Section 5AA win.
Laubenra qualified for state in 2019 in the 200 meters and has set a goal of a top-three finish in each of her events Saturday.
The state meet this year is at St. Michael-Albertville High School. The Class AA girls finals are Saturday at 3:30 pm. The boys finals are Saturday at 10:00 am.
