Hopkins Girls Basketball Sweeps Regular Season Series over Eden Prairie
The Hopkins girls basketball team earned their second win of the season over Eden Prairie, beating the Eagles at home in overtime, 66-64.
Up by two with 3.2 seconds left, Hopkins’ Jaliyah Diggs missed the second of two free throws and Rae Ehrman was fouled on the ensuing 60-foot heave. Ehrman made the first two free throws, but missed the third to send the game to overtime.
In OT, Lauren Hilleshiem led the way for the Royals, scoring five of Hopkins’ eight overtime points.
Hilleshiem, Diggs, and Live Bell each scored 14 points for the Royals. Hopkins advances to 17-4 on the season and has now won six straight games.
