Hopkins Boys Basketball Rolls in Holiday Tournament Opener
The Hopkins boys basketball team had no trouble with Columbia Heights in a 93-45 win in the quarterfinals of the One City Holiday Classic at Augsburg University in Minneapolis.
Pressure defense led to easy baskets for the Royals as they jumped out to a 30-9 lead. Hopkins was up 59-22 at halftime.
Anthony Smith had 22 to lead the Royals, who also crushed Minnehaha Academy 104-63 in the semifinals to advance to Monday night’s championship game against Breck.
