Hopkins Beats Osseo; Finishes 2nd in Legion Tournament
The Hopkins American Legion baseball team defeated Osseo 6-2 in the semifinals of the Delano Stars and Stripes tournament on their way to a second-place finish in the tourney.
Brock Zimmer, Paul Safranski and Elijah Stewart each delivered two hits for the Flyers.
Gavin Krozska drove in Spencer Pederson to account for both Osseo runs.
Winning pitcher Aaron Aune threw a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out 10.
Hopkins however lost 2-0 to Edina in the tournament final with Edina scoring both runs in the fourth inning. Hopkins managed just three hits in the loss.
It’s the third straight Stars and Stripes championship won by Edina.
