Hopkins Baseball Wins Third Straight With Rout Over Armstrong
Four runs scored in the first inning and another three runs scored in the fourth propelled Hopkins baseball to an 8-2 win over Armstrong.
The win over the Falcons marks the third straight victory for the Royals and puts Hopkins at 5-5 on the season.
Max Lerner’s RBI single, along with the Royals capitalizing on a few Armstrong errors sparked Hopkins in the first inning. Lerner also added a 2-run double in the fourth inning, that put together with Karl Schiebe’s RBI single to the outfield, gave the Royals a total of three runs in the fourth.
Jay Mound earned the win for Hopkins. Armstrong bounced back the following day and defeated St. Louis Park; the Falcons are also 5-5 on the season.
