Hopkins, Armstrong Advance in 6AAAA Softball
Hopkins and Armstrong have advanced to the winner’s bracket final of the Section 6AAAA softball tournament following wins Wednesday.
The top-seeded Royals shut out Edina 1-0 with pitcher Signe Dohse throwing a one-hitter with nine strikeouts while the third-seeded Falcons beat second-seeded Wayzata 9-6. Armstrong broke a 4-4 tie with four runs in the sixth inning.
Armstrong and Hopkins play Friday at 5:00 pm with the winner moving into next week’s section final.
Wayzata faces Minneapolis Southwest in an elimination game in the double-elimination tournament Friday at 3:00 pm.
