Heritage Christian Academy Boys Basketball Beats West Lutheran in Section 4A Final
The Heritage Christian Academy boys basketball team earned the program’s second trip to the state tournament with a 85-74 win over West Lutheran in the Section 4A final.
The Eagles played an outstanding first half, leading 44-19 at halftime. The Warriors made a furious comeback in the second half, closing the margin to six points before Heritage put the game away.
Owen Haag was one of four Eagles players to score in double figures, hitting for 22 points. Josh Sokeye added 20, Griffin Booms 17 and Aaron Palmer 12.
Isaiah Ronning netted 24 points while Karsten Kromschroeder scored 16 and Jack Nelson 11 for West Lutheran (19-10).
Heritage Christian (21-7) is unseeded for the Class A tournament and faces second-seeded West Central Area (Barrett) in the quarterfinals Thursday at 3:00 pm at Target Center.
The only other state tournament appearance for the Eagles came in 2018.
