Heritage Baseball Wins Rain Shortened Game
The Heritage Christian Academy baseball team beat Mayer Lutheran 1-0 in five innings.
The second round game in the Section 4A tournament was called due to lightning and rain.
Heritage scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning on a single by Jonny Flynn.
With a steady rain falling, Mayer Lutheran loaded the bases in the sixth.
Lightning in the area forced the umpires to stop the game.
When it was determined the field wasn’t playable to continue, the game was official after five innings.
