Heritage Baseball Rallies for Section Win

The Heritage Christian Academy baseball team rallied to defeat Mayer Lutheran 5-4 in the Section 4A baseball tournament as the Eagles advanced to Thursday’s section final against Randolph. It’s the second win for Heritage over Mayer in the tournament.

Trailing 4-0 in the fifth inning the Eagles rallied, getting two-run hits from both Seth Halverson and Taylor Broderson to tie the game at four. Broderson was then the hero in the bottom of the seventh inning as he delivered a walk-off single to left scoring Jonny Flynn with the game-winning run. Heritage plays Randolph for the section title Thursday at noon at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. The Eagles need two wins to win the section title while the Rockets need just one.
