Cooper Boys Basketball Rallies Past Benilde-St. Margaret’s
It was a tale of two halves as the Cooper boys basketball team rallied past Benilde-St. Margaret’s for a 74-57 win Tuesday.
The visiting Red Knights played a strong first half, defending well and getting a combined 24 points from Maddox Alipate and Daniel Ijadimbola to lead 32-29.
The second half was a much different story.
Cooper’s pressure defense paid off in a number of forced turnovers, many leading to easy baskets.
The Hawks outscored BSM 45-25 in the second half on the way to the win.
Davion Evans had 22 points for Cooper, with Anthony Clay-Traczyk (11), Broderick Powell Jr (10) and Tyson Dallas (10) also in double figures.
Ijadimbola finished with 19 and Alipate 17 for Benilde.
Cooper improved to 3-1 with the win.
