Cooper Boys Basketball Falls to Washburn in Section 6AAAA Tournament
The Cooper boys basketball team rallied to within a point after trailing by 14 couldn’t catch Minneapolis Washburn in a 66-58 loss to the Millers in the Section 6AAAA quarterfinals.
Cooper started strong, building an early 9-2 lead.
But visiting Washburn settled in and by halftime the Millers had a 29-26 lead.
They dominated the early part of the second half as the lead grew to 14.
Cooper’s trapping defense helped them rally to within 53-52, but they never caught the Millers.
Washburn made some clutch free throws to hold on for the win.
