Champlin Park Boys Basketball Wins 2OT Thriller over Blaine
The Champlin Park boys basketball kept their perfect season alive Thursday with a thrilling, 110-104 double overtime win over Blaine.
The Rebels were down for most of the second half, but made a rally late to take the game to overtime tied at 90.
At the end of overtime, Blaine’s Shiloh Ayitey and Champlin Park’s Kwa Silikpoh went back-and-forth, making three consecutive layups to either tie the game or take the lead in the final 25 seconds.
Gavin Walter and Tyler Wagner hit back-to-back three-pointers late in double-overtime to propel the Rebels to the win over Blaine.
Champlin Park was lead in scoring by Silikpoh, who poured in 42 points.
Wagner (34 points), Preston Thielke (13), and Walter (11) also scored in double-figures.
Ty Buffo led the way for the Bengals with 31 points.
