Champlin Park Boys Basketball Shooting for Big Season
The Champlin Park boys basketball team hopes to compete for conference and section titles this winter as they look to improve on last season’s 18-10 record.
Guard Josh Strong and post player Francis Nwaokorie are returning starters and three-year varsity players while senior Dylan Gichaba also saw a lot of playing time in 2020.
The Rebels opened the season with 78-55 win over Rogers behind Nwaokorie’s 24 points.
Champlin Park hosts Spring Lake Park Wednesday night and plays at Maple Grove on Friday as part of an abbreviated 18-game 2021 regular season.
The Rebels’ 2020 season ended with a Section 5AAAA semifinal loss to Spring Lake Park last March.
