Champlin Park Boys Basketball Rallies Late, Beats Maple Grove in OT
The Champlin Park boys basketball rallied late in the second half and then beat Maple Grove 76-72 in overtime of their Northwest Suburban Conference game Tuesday night.
Maple Grove led by one point at halftime in a game that stayed close throughout.
Ethan Lukandwa’s steal, basket, and foul shot tied the game with under 45 seconds to play, forcing overtime. The Rebels outscored the Crimson 12-8 in OT.
Lukwanda scored 27 points to lead Champlin Park (3-9 overall, 3-5 NWSC) in scoring. Luke Graff added 14 and Alexander Gamber 11.
Lincoln Palbacki netted 18 points to lead Maple Grove (6-8, 6-2) with Matthew Hosmann scoring 15, Raoul Vaidya 14 and Jon Haakenson 12.
The teams play again March 4th at Maple Grove.
