Champlin Park Boys Basketball Beats Blaine to Stay Undefeated
The Champlin Park boys basketball team held off a challenge to beat district rival Blaine 66-54 to stay undefeated.
The Rebels are ranked number one in the state Class AAAA poll.
It was a good battle through the first half, with Champlin Park building a 30-25 lead at halftime.
They pushed the lead into double figures in the second half and held off the Bengals.
Dylan Gichaba scored 27 points to lead the Rebels, with Josh Strong adding 20.
The win was Mark Tuchscherer’s 300th as Champlin Park head coach.
Champlin Park gets a big test Thursday when they host Totino-Grace. The Eagles are ranked second in Class AAA.
