CCX Sports Spotlight: Wayzata Volleyball
Our CCX Sports Spotlight shines on five seniors in the Wayzata volleyball program.
The Trojans won the Section 5AAAA title this week with a sweep of Champlin Park.
Wayzata is 31-0 and ranked number one in the state as they pursue another title after winning the Class AAA championship in 2019.
A fourth class was added for volleyball this fall.
Ella Voegele, Sierra Moore, Emma Goerger, Mel Goldstein, and Katy Riviere are seniors who are part of Wayzata’s rotation.
They say it’s truly been a team effort this season, with a variety of players taking key roles.
Wayzata opens play in the state Class AAAA tournament Wednesday at 1:00 pm against unseeded Roseville Area.
