CCX Sports Spotlight: Kate Simonet, Mental Health Advocate, Publishes Children’s Book

In this week’s CCX Sports Spotlight we talk with 2013 Park Center High School graduate Kate Simonet.

Kate was a three-sport athlete, and captain, at Park Center and began to struggle with her mental health early in her senior year and continuing into college, where she ran cross country and track at Winona State.

She published a book about her challenges- “Out of the Darkness” in 2022.

Now the 31-year-old non-profit development manager is about to publish her second illustrated children’s book, bringing the message of mental health to a younger audience.
