Breck Boys Soccer Scores Big Win Over Orono
The Breck boys soccer team scored a big win over Orono in matchup of highly ranked teams in their respective classes.
The Mustangs, rated third in class A, beat the Spartans 4-1. Orono is ranked third in class AA.
All of the scoring came in the second half.
Breck’s Chase Wilkinson opened the scoring just 30 seconds into the second half, deflecting a crossing pass from Thomas Belman in.
Orono quickly answered as Nate Hallof re-directed a Cayden Effertz shot in to make it 1-1.
Breck was awarded two penalty kicks in a span of less than a minute and they converted both, with Sam Bae and Elan Choudry netting goals to make it 3-1.
Noah Levinsohn added an insurance goal on another assist from Belman to make the final 4-1.
It was Orono’s first loss; they are now 8-1-2.
Breck improved to 8-2-2.
