Bill Maresh Retires as Champlin Park Wrestling Coach
After 30 seasons leading the Champlin Park wrestling program, Bill Maresh is retiring.
Maresh wasn’t quite the original head coach for the Rebels—Mark Miley had the job for one season when the school opened in the 1992-’93 school year–but he’s been a fixture ever since.
Maresh coached one team to the state tournament, in 2012.
He coached six state individual champions, including his sons Mike and Sam and nephew Kyle Massey. Sam Maresh won three titles.
Bill Maresh says he is leaning towards retiring as a teacher, too, but plans to stay involved at Champlin Park as a substitute teacher and helping out in the wrestling program.
He doesn’t plan to run for political office again. Maresh had an unsuccesful run for the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2020.
