Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Basketball Wins Third Straight State Title
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls basketball team won its third consecutive state championship Saturday, beating Marshall 73-57 in the Class AAA title game.
Kendall McGee led a balanced Red Knights scoring attack with 17 points. Zahara Bishop added 16 while Sydney Friedly and Pressley Watkins scored 13 each.
BSM (26-6) led the Tigers by six points at halftime and hit two three-pointers in the first minute of the second half to extend their lead to 12 and Marshall never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
The Tigers finished their season with a 29-2 record.
