Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Basketball Tops Delano
Four players scored in double figures to lead the Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls basketball team to a 72-68 win over Delano Tuesday night.
The Red Knights- winners of the past three Class AAA state championships-trailed by 12 in the first half but rallied to take a three-point lead by halftime and led most of the second half.
Alivia Bell topped B-SM in scoring with 19 points. Pressley Watkins scored 14, Mira Wismer 12 and Sydney Friedly 11. Watkins passed 1000 career points with a basket early in the second half.
The Tigers were led in scoring by junior forward Addie Iversen who scored 26 points while Abbie Pietila netted 22.
Delano (1-2) is ranked ninth in Class AAA with Benilde-St. Margaret’s (3-0) ranked first.
