Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Basketball Routs Orono to Return to State
After losing twice to Orono during the regular season, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls basketball team wasn’t going to let it happen a third time.
The Red Knights bolted to a 12-0 lead to start the Section 6AAA final on Orono’s home court and had a 51-23 lead at halftime.
They went on to win 74-53 and will be back at state, where they won the past two class AAA titles.
Sophomore Pressley Watkins led a balanced BSM attack with 18 points.
Zahara Bishop had 13 points, with Kate Kapsner and Sydney Friedly at 11 each and Kendall McGee with 10.
Seeding for the state tournament takes place Saturday.
