Benilde-St. Margaret’s Edges Cooper in Football Thriller
The regular season in football wrapped up with a thriller as Benilde-St. Margaret’s edged Cooper 36-34.
It was a back and forth battle all night, with BSM leading 14-7 after one quarter and 28-21 at the half.
Cooper pulled to within 28-27 in the fourth quarter on a Joe Russell to Cameron Royal touchdown pass.
Benilde stretched the lead as Jackson Leischow threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Johnny Woodford to make it 36-27.
Royal added one more TD for Cooper but they fell two points short.
Woodford had a huge night for the Red Knights, catching six passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns.
Both teams finished the regular season with 3-3 records.
