Benilde-St. Margaret’s Advances in 6AAA Boys Basketball
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Section 6AAA tournament with a 41-38 win over Orono Wednesday night.
The Red Knights led 16-3 in the first half but the Spartans rallied, tying the game in the second half.
Orono had possession of the basketball late trailing 39-38 when the Red Knights’ Daniel Ijadimbola came up with a steal and breakaway dunk for the final points of the game.
Ijadimbola scored nine points in the game while Charlie Hansen netted 15 points to lead the Red Knights in scoring.
Sebastian Loder and Andrew Mandel scored 10 points each to lead Orono.
The Red Knights (8-8) play at top-seeded Mound-Westonka in the section semifinals Saturday night.
