BSM Boys Basketball Falls to Orono in 6AAA Final
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys’ basketball team fell just short of one of their season’s goals Thursday night.
The Red Knights lost 66-62 to Orono in the Section 6AAA boys basketball championship game, sending the Spartans to next week’s state tournament.
Jayden Daisy scored 16 points and Jalen Wilson 15 for a BSM team that finishes the season with a record of 24-5.
Orono (24-5) was led by Isaiah Hagen’s 18 points and 16 points from Nolan Groves.
It’s the first state tournament appearance for the Spartans since 2015.
The state boys basketball tournament begins Tuesday for teams in Class AA, AAA, and AAAA and begins Wednesday for Class A teams.
State tournament brackets will be revealed Saturday morning.
