Armstrong Football Races Past St. Louis Park 62-31
The Armstrong football team raced past St. Louis Park for a 62-31 win in the Section 5AAAAA semifinals Saturday.
The Falcons started 6-0 this season before losing their final two regular season games.
They bounced back in a big way in their first playoff game after receiving a bye in the quarterfinals.
St. Louis Park started the scoring on a 74-yard passing play from Zach Helfmann to Stefano Giovannelli.
Armstrong answered immediately on a 32-yard pass from Jamen Malone to Marquan Tucker.
The Falcons offense moved the ball effectively all day; the Falcons scored 27 in the first quarter to take a 27-13 lead.
After two big strikes to Giovannelli in the first quarter, the Orioles’ offense couldn’t match Armstrong’s pace.
Reggie Cater topped 200 yards rushing and had four touchdowns for the Falcons.
Armstrong hosts Robbinsdale district rival Cooper in the section final Friday.
