Armstrong Football Hoping to Return to State
The Armstrong football team graduated some key players on offense, but the Falcons still have high expectations this fall as practices get started this week.
The loss of 2,000 yard rusher Kevon Johnson, 3-year quarterback Dawson Franke, and standout offensive lineman Luke Pappas won’t be easy to overcome, but a good returning group on defense will lead the Falcons.
They have won three straight section titles and that will be the goal again this season.
Some of the top returners include tight end/linebacker Eli Kuempel, linebacker Cal Pilon, linebacker Jackson Wylie, Wide receiver/safety Farell Deline, safety Dylan Gilles, wide receiver Lucas Wodtke, and two-way lineman Everett Daly.
Senior Gabe Hall, a starter in the defensive secondary last season, has the inside track for the quarterback job.
Armstrong opens the season Thursday August 28 at Burnsville.
