Armstrong Football Falls to Elk River for Third Straight Loss
After a 3-0 start, the Armstrong football team lost for the third straight game, falling 42-15 to Elk River Friday.
Elk River scored twice in the second quarter to take a 12-0 lead, scoring the second touchdown with 15 seconds remaining in the half.
The Elks then drove down the field to begin the third, stretching their lead to 20-0.
Carsyn Kleffman had to rushing touchdowns in the third quarter and three total for the Elks.
Armstrong scored twice in the fourth quarter, with Ben Francis running one in early in the period and Gabe Hall connecting with Eli Kuempel on a play-action pass over the middle midway through the quarter.
It wasn’t enough though as defending state class AAAAA champion Elk River secured the win.
