Armstrong Football Crushed by Andover
The Armstrong football team couldn’t stop Andover potent offense in a 42-7 loss to the Huskies Wednesday night in the regular season finale for both teams.
Each team was 6-1 coming into the game and ranked in the top ten in class AAAAA.
Armstrong scored on its opening drive on a 17-yard pass from Dawson Franke to Gideon Breker for a 7-0 lead.
Andover quickly answered though, taking just 34 seconds to score as D’Mario Davenport scored on an 18-yard run.
A spectacular one-handed interception by Luke Dehnicke set up another Andover touchdown as Davenport scored on a four-yard run to make it 14-7 Huskies after one quarter.
Chase Pemberton hit Cam Begalle for an 18-yard touchdown early in the second.
After Andover stopped Armstrong on downs inside the Huskies’ ten, Davenport struck again, racing 65 yards for a score late in the first half for a 28-7 lead.
Davenport scored twice more in the third as Andover wrapped this one up early.
Section playoffs begin next week.
