Wako, Page Advance in Brooklyn Park City Council Primary
Teshite Wako and Shelle Page were the top vote-getters in a Brooklyn Park City Council primary Tuesday night.
Wako and Page received 33 percent and 23 percent of the vote respectively in their bid to represent the city’s Central District.
Each has not previously served on the council, which is a four-year term.
Page, a mortgage loan officer, is a 25-year Brooklyn Park resident and raised two daughters in the Osseo School District.
Wako, a native of Ethiopia, has called Brooklyn Park home for more than 20 years.
The Central District seat became open after the city completed a redistricting process in 2022.
