Toddler Killed in Maple Grove Car Crash
A 2-year-old child died after a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Maple Grove.
According to Maple Grove police, the crash occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the 16000 block of County Road 81. First responders rushed the young child to Maple Grove Hospital, where the toddler was pronounced dead.
Police say a 31-year-old woman driving the vehicle with the child was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, police said.
County Road 81 was closed temporarily after the incident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the child.
