UPDATE: Poppe To Face Hultstrom in Osseo Mayoral Race, Two Other Candidates Withdraw.
The deadline passed this week for candidates in several cities and school boards to file for elected office.
One of the more interesting outcomes is in the city of Osseo, where candidates filed to run for mayor.
Incumbent Mayor Duane Poppe will face current Osseo City Council Member Juliana Hultstrom on the November ballot.
Two other candidates, John Hall and Ed Columbus, withdrew their names after initially filing to run for mayor.
Hall is a former Osseo mayor who was appointed to city council after former member Ashlee Mueller resigned due to a move.
Absentee voting for the general election begins Sept. 20.
