Takeout Tuesday: Options for Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving is almost here, but if you don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen cooking up a big feast, there are some local restaurants offering to do the cooking for you with take-home meal kits.
For $100, you can get their ‘Thanksgiving Feast,’ which includes a whole chicken stuffed with plantain stuffing, roasted pork loin, and several sides such as apple chutney, mashed potatoes, corn bread, green beans plus their tres leches pumpkin cake.
It feeds 4-6 people. Pick up is Nov. 25 and heating instructions are included.
Travail Kitchen (Robbinsdale):
Travail has a Thanksgiving Family Meal for $195. That includes five pounds of turkey and two turkey legs, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato casserole with marshmallow topping, dinner rolls, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, shrimp cocktail and pumpkin pie.
It feeds 4-6 people. Pickup or delivery is available on Nov. 24th or 25th.
D’Amico (Brooklyn Park/Golden Valley):
D’Amico Catering is offering up a full feast for $195. It includes a wild rice salad, mixed greens, turkey breast, turkey thighs, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, soft rolls, homemade dressing, a garnish kit, cranberries and pumpkin pie.
It feeds six people, with pickup available at Edinburgh USA golf course, or the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley on Nov. 25.
Mort’s Café & Deli (Golden Valley):
Mort’s Deli has a Thanksgiving take & bake meal kit for $129.99. You get a prepped turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, dinner rolls, plus a pumpkin pie and a cherry pie for dessert (along with instructions on how to heat everything).
The meal kit feeds six people, and pick up is available from Nov. 23-25.
Rock Elm Tavern (Maple Grove/Plymouth):
You can get a take and bake meal from Rock Elm Tavern for $100. That includes turkey, butternut squash salad, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls and a pumpkin pie.
The meal serves 4-5 people with pickup available Nov. 24 or 25 at either Rock Elm Tavern location.
Revival (Minneapolis/St. Paul):
If you’re looking for something other than turkey, step out of the suburbs and check out Revival in Minneapolis or St. Paul.
For $250, you can get two whole chickens prepared “southern fried” or “Tennessee hot,” mac & cheese, candied yams, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread stuffing, a banana cream pie, and a butterscotch pie.
That serves ten people with pickup available on Nov. 24 or 25. And in case that feast is a little too much for your family gathering, they also have an la carte option as well.
The Capital Grille (Minneapolis):
Also in Minneapolis, The Capital Grille is offering Thanksgiving Sides At Home, featuring elevated classics such as Pecan-Crusted Sweet Potatoes with Hot Honey, Cranberry-Pear Chutney, French Green Beans with Marcona Almonds and the restaurant’s signature Mashed Potatoes, among other holiday staples. Sides serve four to six people for $125 and come prepared and ready to be reheated. Guests can pair with a bottle of wine or the restaurant’s iconic Stoli Doli martini, in select locations.
