Takeout Tuesday: Local Restaurants Offer Christmas Family Meal Kits
Christmas is almost here, but if you don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen cooking up a feast, some local restaurants are offering take-home meal kits.
Rock Elm Tavern
We’ll start with Rock Elm Tavern, which is offering two Christmas dinner options.
One is a glazed ham with salad, roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts and bread pudding for $125. The other is a prime rib roast with the same sides for $150.
Each meal serves up to five people, with pickup available on Dec. 23 at either the Plymouth or Maple Grove location.
3 Squares
Meanwhile at 3 Squares in Maple Grove (which is part of the Blue Plate Restaurant Co.), they’re offering three family meal options centered around your choice of turkey breast or glazed ham.
For $59.95 you can get the “Holiday Family Favorite” meal featuring cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, salad, and bread.
For $69.95, you can get the “Santa’s Choice” option, featuring all of those sides, along with two slices of carrot cake.
And for $87.50, you can get their “Deck the Halls” meal, featuring the meat, all the sides, the carrot cake and a bottle of wine.
Pickup is available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Marna’s Eatery and Lounge
Over at Marna’s Eatery and Lounge in Robbinsdale, they’re offering three different Christmas feasts as well.
For $100, you can get one with ham covered in a rum pineapple glaze along with a number of delicious sides like mashed potatoes, butternut squash soup and pineapple bread.
For $125, you can order a feast with prime rib roast with sides.
And for $150, you can get a meal featuring both the ham and prime rib.
Pickup is available at Marna’s on Dec. 23.

Honey & Mackie’s
And finally, for anyone out there who wants to keep with tradition and cook their own family meal, Honey & Mackie’s ice cream shop in Plymouth has a delicious dessert option.
For $24.75, you can get their holiday sampler. Each box contains 12 unique holiday ice cream flavors such as sugar cookies, candy cane and hot chocolate. Each flavor comes in a 5.5oz ounce serving container for a total of over four pints of ice cream. However, the product must be kept frozen. Customers can pick up the holiday sampler at Honey & Mackie’s or have it shipped for $15.
