Suspects Arrested After Police Pursue Stolen Car Through NW Suburbs
Police arrested two suspects early Friday morning after officers pursued a stolen car through Robbinsdale, Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center.
The pursuit began at about 3:20 a.m. at County Road 81 and Highway 100 in Robbinsdale, authorities told CCX News. Robbinsdale police had confirmed the vehicle was wanted for crimes in St. Paul. The vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Minneapolis, fled through Brooklyn Park before it eventually crashed in the 6900 block of Palmer Lake Drive in Brooklyn Center.
The suspects tried to run away after crashing the vehicle. They were believed to be armed, police said. At that time, officers from numerous agencies had set up a perimeter. Eventually, police were able to arrest one suspect with the help of a Hennepin County K-9 unit. Brooklyn Park police and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office deputies tracked down the second suspect.
Both suspects were wanted for burglary and assaulting an officer. They were transferred to the Ramsey County jail, where are they being held pending charges.
