Ann Johnson Stewart Elected to Senate District 44
In the race to fill the seat for Senate District 44, voters selected Ann Johnson Stewart. Stewart defeated Republican challenger Greg Pulles by a vote of 33,547 to 23,503.
Senate District 44 covers the central and western part of Plymouth and part of Minnetonka. Paul Anderson represented the district for one term, after narrowly winning it in 2016 by 125 votes and a recount. He decided not to run again.
Greg Pulles, a lawyer who lives in Plymouth, mentions on his campaign website that he grew up on the north side of Minneapolis and has been actively serving schools and groups there.
Ann Johnson Stewart’s bio calls her a “teacher and bridge builder at heart.” She’s a civil engineer who started her own engineering business and for 20 years, she’s been a teacher at technical colleges in the area.
