Song ‘Ready to Fly’ Composed for Robbinsdale District Band
Thanks to a grant from the Seven Dreams Foundation and a donation, Canadian Composer Cait Nishimura created the song “Ready to Fly” for the Robbinsdale District Band.
The band played the first performance of the song last week at a concert.
The song was commissioned by Tammy Wahlin for Robbinsdale Area Schools. The donation came from Marlene Johnson, who asked to dedicate the piece of memory of her brother, Arnold Johnson, who was a “lover of birds.” The program said that Marlene and Arnold are both graduates of Robbinsdale High Schools.
