Rush Creek Elementary Fourth-Grader Takes First in Statewide Fire Poster Contest
Rush Creek Elementary fourth-grade student Harrison Gross has a remarkable achievement to celebrate. He finished first in the 2024 Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association poster contest.
It’s an impressive accomplishment considering there was thousands of student entries.
For first place, Gross won a $75 check. He also took home an additional $25 for winning the Maple Grove city fire prevention poster contest.
The Maple Grove City Council honored Gross at Monday’s meeting.
According to Shannon Burton, Maple Grove’s deputy fire marshal, the city has established a tradition of students who have finished in either first, second or third place statewide since 2019.
