Police Respond to Incident at Robbinsdale Middle School
Students and staff at a Robbinsdale Middle School may notice additional police officers this week after an incident at the end of the school day Wednesday.
In a letter to families, Principal Cedric Fuller said “a small number of youth and adults” entered the school building and “began engaging our students in a physical altercation.”
The incident happened as school let out for the day and students were exiting the building.
School staff and police responded, though Robbinsdale police say those who entered the building fled before officers arrive.
There was no report of serious injuries. It’s also unclear what connection the perpetrators had with the school or what their motive was.
“Officers are working with the school district staff to investigate what transpired,” said Robbinsdale Police Capt. John Elder.
Elder said no arrests have been made as of Thursday afternoon.
Police and school leaders continued to Thursday. Fuller also urged students in need of support to contact school counselors.
